Dr. Jawahar Lal R Gangaramani, The Art Of Living Middle East Apex body member, President and Executive Chairman of the Al Fara'a Integrated Construction Group, has been awarded the internationally reputed ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Samman' Award at a ceremony held in Chennai, India on January 09 2009. Dr. Gangaramani accepted the award from President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil. As a recipient of this award, he joins the ranks of notable personalities.

The global award is bestowed by the Indian Government on an annual basis and is limited to a maximum of 15 awardees per year. With only a select few entitled to nominate possible recipients for it, Dr J R Gangaramani is the fifth UAE resident to achieve this accolade in the last seven years.

Dr J R Gangaramani was born in Mumbai. He graduated in structural engineering from Bombay University in 1971, after gaining his initial professional experience in India. He landed in UAE in 1974 with ambitious dreams and a passion to excel. Working his way up the corporate ladder with a leading construction company during 1974-1980, he laid the foundation stone of the Al Fara'a construction empire by conceiving and constituted Al Fara'a General Contracting Company in 1980.
