Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidyamandir is a school providing stress free and child friendly education to children as per the vision of Poojya Sri Sri Ravishankar. Many prestigious schools in the city boast of providing stress free education. But if we visit the school we can see that there are divisions from A, B, C, D, upto even G and H from LKG, UKG onwards and in each class they have 40 to 45 children. It is just like a lecture hall in a college. How can any teacher pay attention to the individual requirements of a child? But parents are impressed by the imposing buildings and other infrastructure facilities. They feel comfortable because they feel that their duty towards their children is fulfilled once he or she secures admission in such a school. Everybody knows that the achievements of the students in the academic and cultural levels are mostly based on private coaching classes. The strict discipline, mechanical teaching and the heavy workload instill stress and fear in the child. How can creativity blossom in such an environment? Only children whose parents pay special attention to their children’s achievements by arranging special tuition classes fare well in such schools. Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidyamandir (SSRVM), Trivandrum is entering the ninth year of its growth. The first batch of children are now going to be in standard VII. Our children are the shining examples of what stress free education can do to develop the inborn talents of a child. Recently our children were taken to visit the Sastra train and ISRO as part of their space week celebrations. The authorities were impressed by the children’s happy innocent faces, their enthusiasm and curiosity. The children were asking questions with out any fear in the most natural manner and they were very happy to clear their doubts and explain about the rocket launching and other activities. Yoga and meditation are part of our daily routine. Poojya Sri Sri Ravishankar is very particular about providing training to the children in cultural activities like music, dance, Key board etc. We are also providing Karatte classes and aerobic exercises to our children. Our children participated in the model making, essay and quiz competitions organized as part of space week celebrations of ISRO. 42 students were awarded certificates for their meritorious achievements. In the South Zone CBSE Kalotsavam, our school bagged Kalathilakom, a host of other prizes and the ever rolling trophy for overall championship. Our students also were awarded scholarships for their academic achievements. Parents are welcome to visit the various classes during school hours and get first hand information on how teachers are engaging classes as per our unique teaching methodology with live examples and various teaching aids. Know your Child ( KYC ) workshop is a two and half hour interactive workshop for parents to help them to understand children better. Know your Child workshop really helps parents and the child so much that we thought that we will arrange a few workshops for the benefit of parents in Kerala. Parents are advised to make an effort to attend one workshop. It can only benefit all of us (parents, child and school) About KYC: A conducive environment is essential for learning, especially for children. For a child, parents are the environment. Children by nature are enthusiastic, joyful, loving, caring, stress free. However, these qualities fade away as they grow up. How do we preserve these qualities in our children. Know Your Child (KYC) is a two and half hour interactive workshop for parents to help them to understand children better. The age group of children between 1 to 12 years. Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies aims to impart student centric knowledge about media & to develop dynamism, courage, self confidence & a sense of adventure in each individual. SSCMS is now open for admissions for the One year Post Graduate Diploma is Print, Broadcast (TV & Radio) and New Media (Web/online) Journalism starting in August 2009.
