Updating of a Seva follow up

As the people have started going back to India, more and more people are approaching  to us so that the number of people  gone so far have come up to 100......

In the process of helping a much disturbing  labor camp - characterized by the lack of shelter / food & water, the human beings from various walks of life have stretched out their hands with alms, after a general appeal from the Malayalee volunteers of ‘The Art Of Living’ who are leading by a Malayalam Art of Living teacher at Dubai Chapter.  Our partners of this success movement to mitigate the miseries of those unfortunates from the Andhra Predesh / Tamil Nadu are mainly Dubai Indian Consulate, 96.7 Hit FM Radio Dubai, Telungu Radio Sharjah, Asianet TV and 1539 AM Asianet Radio, Dubai respectively and the daily creative campaign running through the 96.7 Hit FM radio have really opened-up the hearts of the listeners.

A few from this class of people who are willing to go to India were gone after  getting   the necessary legal documents with a free ticket from the Indian Consulate, Dubai, giving further assurance that they are ready to give free tickets to anybody from this group who are desiring to go back to home.

In connection with their journey back to home 96.7 Hit FM have managed to raise a special fund from which they have given AED 500 (Approx INR.5200) for each one and it was given for these 3 people who have already gone to Andhra Pradesh, India.

Through 96.7 Hit FM as well as from the people who are directly or indirectly connected through AOL volunteers are supplying food / cloth to these people at the site.  The food is being given through a restaurant which is adjacent to the site and these donors are invited and requested to remit the money to this concerned restaurant directly.    This restaurant in turn will give food to these people according to the food coupon which is distributed among these people.

As a detailed summary the following points can be noted as the development of this project which was happened only by the grace of Poojya Sri Sri Ravishankar.

  •       On the auspicious day of May 13 onwards we have started our project by giving cloths and foods nearly 50 - 80 people and started processing the necessary documents for the Indian Consulate / Immigration/ Jail / Company Sponsors. It is to be noted that the guidance and the full co-operation of the local govt authorities and our consulate were amazing.

  •       1539 AM Asianet radio, Dubai assistant program director Mr. Ramesh Payyannur (AOL member) covered this news both in radio and TV channel and closely associated with this project.

  •       Mathrubhumi daily Gulf Edition covered this news.

  •       The considerable turning point was happened when the 96.7 Hit FM was involved.  The wholehearted support of Ms. Sindhu, Mr. Arjun & Mr Mithun in the FM radio has been amazing.

  •       We had a meeting with the Council General Shri Venu Rajamani, Shri P Ajithakumar, Shri Raina along with 96.7 Hit FM team to evaluate the situation.

  •       The 96.7 Hit FM is able to generate the sufficient money for the food which was directly giving to the restaurant.

  •       96.7 Hit FM is also generated funds to give AED 500 (approx. Rs. 5000) to the people who already went back to India.

  •       The 96.7 Hit FM is able to attract the The Telungu Radio and their C.E.O Mr. Siva have visited and given counselling.

  •       The Art of Living and 96.7 Hit FM is also updating the Council General / Indian Consulate, Dubai about the developments.

  •       We have got the support of the Andhra Govt. with the help of Mr. Siva and 96.7 Hit FM and promised supplementary programs like;

  •       Sending a representative from the Andhra Government to help these people.

  •       Promised entire tickets for these people.

  •       Plan to revive thru OMCAP - a Government of AP undertaking registered with Protector General of Emigrants MOIA New Delhi.

  •       The Indian Consulate have promised the entire tickets and the speedy documentation within 3 weeks time.

  •       Further we have decided to keep these 28 people giving a separate shelter and meals.  The expense will be raised and managed by 96.7 Hit FM and The Telungu Radio respectively.

  •       The confidence and the whole hearted support of the local Government and the Indian Consulate give us an additional impetus to move ahead without any fail in our endeavour. We do mark our everlasting gratitude to these honorable bodies in the name of Art of living.

The inevitability of regular seva follow ups

We need Seva Follow-ups also. The human beings geographically not far from the Humanitarian City stretching out their arms by crying “today will you bring food for us…..?” “when shall I get my ticket….?”

We have heard in the part-1course to stretch out our hands to enemies even. How many of us stretched out our hands with a pot of food to these human beings who are scattered all over here itself? Yes, we do see the stretching out hands with pots and gazing eyes even out side of the Art of Living after our general appeal through various sources including media.
