The Art Of Living members from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Al Ain celebrated Eid and Onam with traditional gaiety on Fridaythe 25th Sep 2009 here in Dubai.

The organisers made every effort to ensure that the festivity had a stamp of zeal to make the non-resident Malayalis in UAE, who were unable to go to their natives for celebrating the Eid and Onam on actual date, to touch the home base.

The celebration began with a procession to ceremoniously welcome ‘King Mahabali,’ who is believed to visit his erstwhile kingdom on every Onam day.

Highlight of this year’s Onam & Eid celebration was the Satsang lead by the play back singer Mrs. Jyothy Menon andother cultural programmes - Oppana, Margam Kali, Kaikottikali, majic show etc... - by the Art Of Living members.

Finally, as with all Indian festivals, grand feast is an integral part of this celebration as well. It was a perfect traditional keralite meal in terms of quantity and quality. The very sight or thought of the delicious meal - ‘payasam,’ ‘upperi,’ ‘kalan,’ ‘olan,’ ‘pappadam’ and ‘aviyal’ ..... with rice to captivate the foodies - being served on a banana leaf was mouth watering.
